Charlottesville, VA (May 22, 2026)—Rebel Records proudly announces the release of “The Power and Glory,” the latest single from award-winning country and bluegrass group The Kody Norris Show. The track is the newest preview off of the band’s forthcoming Rebel album Spirit Of America, arriving Friday, June 26.

Originally written by legendary folk songwriter Phil Ochs in the mid-1960s, “The Power and Glory” finds The Kody Norris Show reimagining a classic American folk anthem through their own distinctive bluegrass style. Featuring lead vocals from Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris and a dynamic full-band arrangement by Kody Norris, the song captures both the beauty of the American landscape and the enduring values of unity, freedom, and resilience that continue to define the nation’s story.

“When the idea of an America250 celebration album came about, we had a pretty good idea what most of the material would be,” shares Mary Rachel. “However, we still wanted to look at outside songs that may have slipped by us throughout the years. This was one of those as it dates back to the mid-sixties by Phil Ochs! When we sat down to rehearse this album, I envisioned this song in a little different format with me singing lead and then hopping to the harmony line on the chorus. Kody put the arrangement to it and bam! — we had us another song for the album!”

The release continues the rollout of Spirit Of America, a timely new project designed as both a tribute and a rallying cry as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary. Following recent releases including “Good Ol’ USA,” which premiered on RFD-TV and was featured by Taste of Country, “The Power and Glory” adds a thoughtful and reverent perspective to the album’s broader themes of home, faith, service, unity, heritage and the enduring promise of the American spirit.

Recorded by Wes Easter at Eastwood Studios in Cana, Virginia, and mixed and mastered by Van Atkins at The Shop Studio in Candler, North Carolina, the track features Kody Norris on guitar and lead and harmony vocals, Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris on mandolin, lead and harmony vocals, Hayden “Jim” Hensley on banjo and harmony vocals, Charlie Lowman on bass, Gregg Lohman on percussion, and Jason Barie on fiddle.

With Spirit Of America, The Kody Norris Show embraces a season of celebration while honoring the music, stories, and traditions that have shaped generations of American life.
