Charlottesville, VA (February 20, 2026)—As the nation begins commemorating the 250th anniversary of its founding, Rebel Records is excited to announce the release of “Spirit of America,” the brand-new single from The Kody Norris Show. The uplifting anthem captures the pride, perseverance, and hardworking spirit that defines our nation, serving as the first of several spring singles ahead of the band’s new full-length album set for release in June.
Originally written by the late Aubrey Holt of Boys From Indiana fame and first recorded by Aubrey's son Tony Holt and the Wildwood Valley Boys, “Spirit of America” is a powerful salute to the industrious people who have shaped our nation. With its signature energy, tight harmonies, and deep respect for bluegrass tradition, The Kody Norris Show delivers a stirring performance that feels especially timely as the country approaches the America250 celebration.
“As we celebrate America250, ‘Spirit of America’ was one of the first songs we knew we had to record,” shares Kody Norris. “The hardworking hands behind this country are the very ones that have kept our nation moving forward for 250 years, and we hope to honor a few of them with this song."
Led by Kody's commanding vocals and guitar work, the track features his wife Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris on fiddle and mandolin, as well as harmony vocals on the opening verses before stepping into the spotlight for the final verse. The single also marks the recording debut of the band's newest member, 14-year-old banjo player Hayden "Jim" Hensley, who was officially introduced at the recent SPBGMA Awards Show in Nashville, Tennessee last month. Charlie Lowman anchors the ensemble with his ever-steady bass work.
