| | | Charlottesville, VA (July 17, 2026)—Rebel Records is proud to announce "The Battle of New Orleans" as the fifth radio single from The Kody Norris Show's latest album Spirit Of America. The song keeps the momentum going for the band's patriotic concept album, released June 26, 2026 to mark America's 250th anniversary, which continues to win over bluegrass and country radio audiences.
A bluegrass reimagining of Jimmie Driftwood's classic, made famous by Johnny Horton's chart-topping 1959 country hit, "The Battle of New Orleans" gives The Kody Norris Show a chance to put their own high-energy stamp on one of American music's most enduring story-songs. The band tackles the tune with the same gusto and showmanship that's defined their live performances and made them one of bluegrass's most electric acts. | "'The Battle of New Orleans' has always had a special place in my heart as it was one of the first songs I ever learned along with my dad and grandpa," shares Norris. "When we started thinking about songs for Spirit Of America, our first ever concept album celebrating our great country, 'The Battle of New Orleans' immediately came to mind!" |
